For You Poppy Tag Stampin' Up! Pretty Paper Cards

I really enjoy making tags, and today I thought I might tell you why. Well, they’re small, even tiny, and just cute! It’s fun to make a pretty little “scene” in a smaller-than-usual space 🙂 And, it takes less time to create a tag than a card.

For You Poppy Tag Stampin' Up! Peggy Noe

To create these tags, I used a stitched, scalloped rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (part of the So Sentimental Bundle) for the base of the tag. With the die I cut out a piece of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. This pattern is just pretty and I wanted to use it as the “scene” of the tag. But the paper is a bit lightweight, so I backed it with a piece of Pool Party card stock, cut with the same die. Even though you can’t really see it in these pictures, it makes the tag more sturdy.

A Heart Doily was sponged on the back with Pool Party ink and cut down the center. I put one half of a sponged doily on each tag as a fun background item. I cut some bright purple flowers from other sheets of the designer series paper and adhered them to the tag, over the doily, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White card stock and cut out with the tiny little label die from the set (so adorable!!). That was also adhered with Dimensionals.

A few sprigs were punched from Purple Posy card stock using the Sprig Punch, and slipped in under the purple flowers (adhere with Multipurpose Glue). Some Glitter Enamel Dots were added in for bling 🙂 I punched a hole in the center top of the rectangle and ran through some gorgeous Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Ribbon, then tied it with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

You can pop a tag on anything…tie it on a plant as a hostess gift, slip it in with a cookie or cupcake for a friend, or tie it on a package! So many ways to use a tag!
