Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I like to put a few heart-themed decorations up, and for this year I’ve created this fun heart banner. A friend of mine made one for her craft room and I loved it ~ so I decided to make my own!

Each individual “flag” was made with a 4″ x 3″ piece of True Love Designer Series Paper. I chose the sheet with the black polka dots on a white background. At the top of each flag is a sweet little scalloped edge piece that was cut using the Stitched Be Mine Dies. Throughout these projects the colors Magenta Madness and Real Red are alternated with the black and white.

The ribbons add so much, and Stampin’ Up! has beautiful ribbons! Here I’ve used Magenta Madness 1/4″ 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon, 5/8″ Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, and 3/8″ Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon. They’ve been attached with Stampin’ Seal to the center of each flag and looped at the top. Ribbons were also tied in a group on each end of the banner. And to string the banner together, I’ve used Real Red Stitched Ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.

You can also use the flags on the front of a card!! Here I’ve used a Basic White card base and added a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock that’s been embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. After embossing, I added Magenta Madness ink with one of our new Blender Brushes.

Truthfully I love Valentine’s Day because it’s all about red and pink and hearts and flowers ~ oh, and ribbon! I’m always excited to create pretty new cards and projects 🙂
