My card today was inspired by a card on the cover of the brochure for the Sale-a-bration 2nd Release. See if you can find it below. Better yet, click on the cover and see the entire 2nd Release catalog!
This card uses the Healing Hugs stamp set for the sentiment. It’s stamped in Basic Gray on Whisper White card stock and cut with a circle die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Behind it is another piece of the dsp, cut with a scalloped circle die from the Layering Circles Framelits.
The Healing Hugs stamp set is one of my all-time favorites. The sentiments are so nice ~ wonderful when you want to send a card to someone who isn’t feeling well 🙂
Thank you for stopping by today!
I love roses! I just do. My front garden is filled with roses. So when I saw this gorgeous rose stamp that is part of the new Healing Hugs stamp set, I had to have it!
The rose and the leaves here are special stamps called “DistINKtive” stamps. They are created in a special way to look more realistic than other rubber stamps. And aren’t they gorgeous? For my card today I stamped two roses in Berry Burst ink and then stamped another rose on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock using Blushing Bride ink. I cut that rose out and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals in between the other two.

Pretty Pointer: Sometimes it’s hard to tell which colors look best with others. For example, for this card I wasn’t sure which green would look best for the leaves. If this happens to you, just do what I do! I stamped the leaves on a separate piece of card stock using the different greens I had available. Then I held the piece of card stock up to the stamped roses to determine which leaves looked best. I decided on the Old Olive ink…what do you think?
Once I chose the color for the leaves, I stamped two sets of leaves on the card stock panel with the roses, and stamped another set on a separate piece, just like I did with the rose. I fussy cut those leaves out and then curled them a bit with my bone folder. I attached them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the raised up rose. I think it looks like the leaves are coming up off the paper!

Today’s card uses the Beautiful You stamp set. This set is really something different. I love it!
These stamps are very artistic, they make beautiful scenes. And on top of that, they are amazingly easy to stamp! They give a clear crisp image.
It doesn’t take any time at all to make a great card! For this card I stamped the girl with the umbrella, then I stamped some designer series paper with the same stamp. I cut out the umbrella from the dsp and pieced it onto the umbrella on the girl. Super easy — and a big WOW!
I added a quick “sky” above the umbrella using the Sale-a-Bration set called Delicate Details (FREE with a $50 order!). Then I stamped a sentiment onto a piece of Mint Macaron card stock and punched it out with a circle punch. Quick and done!
Oh, I forgot…I used Watercolor Pencils on her dress! It’s so much fun to color…so relaxing! And, making cards is relaxing, don’t you think? That’s something I really like about card making, it gives me a chance to get away into a world of colors and papers and lace (sometimes), and forget everything else. What about you? Why do you like card making? Let me know, I love your comments!

This pretty card is a case (copy and share everything) from a card by Julie Kettlewell in the U.K. It really shows off the beautiful Swallowtail stamp which is retiring on May 31st. It really is such a pretty and detailed stamp, I wanted to use it once more before it retires.
It’s an easy card to make ~ really! Stamp the Swallowtail on the left side of the card and fussy cut him on the right side. Then stamp the flowers from the Birthday Blossoms on the right side of the inside of the card.
Also, you can make it in all different colors~a rainbow of swallowtails!! Hee! Above I used Perfect Plum, and on the card below I’ve used the pretty Watermelon Wonder.
The sentiments used here are from the lovely set called Thoughts and Prayers…perfect for this card!
There’s lots of sponging on this card, on all the edges. Crumb Cake is the perfect ink for an aged look. Just use a sponge dauber and sponge away!
Thanks for stopping by today. Which color do you like more? I’d like to know! I think I like the Perfect Plum, myself… I love your comments 🙂

Today I have for you two simple cards. The first one is a get well card and the second one is a sympathy card. Even though we are really getting going with the holiday season, we still have a need for these cards. It’s so nice to have cards like these available when you need them.
This first one is a very simple get well. It’s uses a Whisper White card base with layers of Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White on top. I’ve stamped the watercolor stamp from Hello Fall in Cajun Craze ink and below it is the get well sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts. The addition of one little candy dot in Pear Pizzaz finishes this off. Quick and simple.
The sympathy card is made with a card base of Soft Suede and a layer of Whisper White on top. The stamps are from two sets which I believe are essentials for any stamper: Love & Sympathy and Thoughts & Prayers. These stamps are perfect for a sympathy card. For the flower stamp I used Stampin’ Write Markers and for the sentiment I used Baked Brown Sugar ink.

Every so often you need a get well card. Today’s card is quick, simple, and pretty, and a good one to have on hand for those times.
The Midnight Muse dotted paper in the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack is a classic pattern to start off with. You could use several color combinations as layers on this card, but I chose to stay with Midnight Muse and use Raspberry Ripple as a contrast. The layers are lifted on dimensionals.
The sentiment is stamped right on a strip of the designer series paper, and for the finishing touch I’ve added a pretty knotted ribbon to “tie” it all together. I think I’ll make several of these to keep on hand myself! 🙂
Have a great weekend, stamping friends!
