Today’s project is a sweet decorated journal! If you’re like me, you like pretty journals 🙂 I have quite a few and just love each one! Stampin’ Up! has some small journals that are just begging to be decorated ~ so, of course I had to oblige! And, I made a video to show you how I did it.
The Pressed Petals Journal is such a nice size. And because it’s small, it’s easy to decorate. You will love the way the inside pages are printed in different colors and with different patterns on the pages!
The Pressed Petals Washi Tape is really fun. Do you see the roll of purplish (Rich Razzleberry) washi tape below on the right side of the photo? It’s really individual petals that peel off and you can place them wherever you want! Totally fun! You can see that I’ve placed 5 of them in and around the stamped flowers below. I love the depth of color that they add.
Here is a close up of the inside front cover of the journal. As described in the video, a tiny envelope was created with another sheet of the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper and using the Envelope Punch Board. Inside is a small piece of Rococo Rose card stock stamped with the same sentiment that is on the front of the journal. It’s from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. The envelope flap is closed with two little metal roses from the Bird Ballad Trinkets. Each is adhered to the envelope with a Mini Glue Dot. A small bit of Linen Thread is secured around the lower flower so that when you close the flap of the envelope you can run the thread around the roses in the shape of a figure 8.
On the inside of the back cover of the journal I adhered one of the Stampin’ Up! 3″ x 3″ Whisper White envelopes. For this envelope I cut off the upper flap before securing it to the paper. The envelope is trimmed with a bit of Rococo Rose Linen Ribbon and a flower and some leaves stamped with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set. The flower and leaves were fussy cut with some Paper Snips and attached to the ribbon with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
A Pearlized Doily was. glued to a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then cut the paper close to the scallops of of the doily. This created a doily backed with card stock. I then stamped around the doily with the same flower and leaves used on the envelope. The “hello” sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and punched out with the 1-1/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Adhere to the center of the doily with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
You could continue decorating every page of this journal!! Once you get started, it’s hard to stop! Most of the products used on today’s project are listed below.

Very pretty!!
Thank you Terry!
Lots of great techniques in this video, Peggy! ❤️ And each decorated page could also be a card front, too. ? Nice to see the envelope Punch board being used to make mini envelopes… love that! How about making a video with the new Floral washi tape Petals? So intrigued with this new product. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us… whoever receives one of these decorative journals from you will be thrilled. ❤️
Thanks, Patricia, that’s a good idea! I’m still discovering things about this washi tape 🙂
Peggy this is absolutely amazing! What a work of art!!!
