Leaves, Leaves, Leaves!

Stampin' Up! Winter Woods - Peggy Noe - stampinup

I think I got a bit carried away on this card, but I decided to show it to you anyway 🙂  These little leaves were so much fun to make I just couldn’t stop!

Stampin' Up! Winter Woods Thinking of You - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The leaves were created by watercoloring Shimmery White card stock with Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, and Blackberry Bliss ink. An Aqua Painter was used to apply the water and the ink. Then when the paper was dry, the leaves were punched out with the Leaf Punch and trimmed off at their stems.

Stampin' Up! Winter Woods - prettypapercards - stampinup

The background trees are from the Winter Woods stamp set. This is such a versatile set, it has birch trees, a big pine tree, and these winter trees.

“Thinking of you” is such a nice sentiment ~ it covers lots of occasions and expresses compassion and care. I like to have a nice selection of these ready to go.

Always Thinking of You!

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Hi friends ~ thanks for stopping by! I am always thinking of you…so today’s card is just perfect!! Truthfully, I do think about you and I’m so thankful for you, my blog readers!

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest - Pretty Paper Cards - stampinup
Today’s card is a copy of one featured in my Stampin’ Up! demonstrator magazine. I love getting this magazine, it has great ideas and samples. I saw a card with these soft colors and just had to try to create one of my own! Some of these colors are new and I hadn’t seen them combined quite like this before. It always surprises me what a difference color makes on any project.

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The featured new colors here are Petal Pink and Grapefruit Grove. Petal Pink is the soft pink that forms the card base. And the flower is a two-step stamp that uses both of the new colors. I just can’t get over how pretty they look together! Behind the flower are three rectangular pieces of card stock forming a square. Each is stamped with a texture stamp (from the Timeless Textures stamp set) using Petal Pink ink.

Stampin' Up! Leaf Punch Painted Harvest - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzaz ink and punched out with the Leaf Punch. I punched three sets of leaves and layered them under the flower. Do you combine stamps from different sets to create a card? Today’s card uses three different sets-they are all shown below.

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest Card - Prettypapercards - stampinup

What do YOU think of these colors? LEAVE ME A COMMENT HERE and let me know what you think, I’d love to know! And, if you would like to copy this card the way I did, please feel free! All the supplies are shown below 🙂

Summery Rooted In Nature!

Stampin' Up! Rooted In Nature - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Stamp sets usually have a theme and if you use the stamps according to the theme you can create a great project. But sometimes I like to do something different. What about you?

Stampin' Up! Rooted in Nature - Pretty Paper Cards - stampinup

Rooted In Nature is a wonderful new stamp set with trees and leaves and sentiments. It tends toward a masculine card or a forest or fall themed card.

Clear Mount Stamp Set Item No. 146482 $42
Wood Mount Stamp Set Item No. 146479 $55

But today is the first day of summer and it’s time for light green and new growth! So I used Lemon Lime Twist – our bright and vibrant fresh green! And I paired it with my favorite Berry Burst Ruffled Ribbon 🙂

Always Thinking of You!

Stampin' Up! - Thinking of You - Prettypapercards - stampinup

Today we have a great new tic tac toe board over at Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I love to play this challenge because you have so many choices when making your project. Here’s the board for this week:

For my card I chose the last row at the bottom: square – die cut – dots. The leaves and the blue lace and rectangle were cut from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies. I love both of these dies and, BONUS!, they are carrying over into the new catalog! Yippee!

Stampin; Up! Petal Palette Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

For this card I used a bunch of dies and stamp sets 🙂 The flowers were stamped and cut from the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle (stamp set and dies are also carrying over). The sentiment is from the Beautiful Day stamp set. I really like the font!

Technique Tip: The feature color here is the beautiful Daffodil Delight. Do you see the watercolored panel underneath all the “goodies’? It’s really easy to do with an Aqua Painter and a bit of ink from the Daffodil Delight ink pad. With the ink pad closed, simply press the center of the case on both sides. This deposits a little bit of ink into the lid of the case. Then with the Aqua Painter you put a drop or two of water into the lid. This creates the “wash” that you then brush across the panel of Shimmery White paper. Let it dry naturally (like your hair!!) or blow it with the blow dryer/heat tool! Hee hee!!

There are so many fabulous products that are retiring, including some beautiful colors. Be sure to check these out and get what you want before it’s gone. Especially the color products – they go fast! CLICK HERE to see everything that’s retiring.

Thank you for stopping by today! Email me (peggy@prettypapercards.com) and let me know if you try the watercolor wash ~ I’d love to hear how it turns out!!

Autism Awareness Blog Hop!

In celebration of World Autism Awareness Day, a group of crafters have joined together in a Blog Hop to help spread awareness. We have all created a handmade card with the focus on supporting those with or in support of caregivers of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Stampin' Up! Autism Lovely Words Thinlits - Prettypapercards - stampinup

Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. Autism affects an estimated 1 in 88 births (Centers for Disease Control Prevention, 2014). Roughly translated, this means as many as 1.5 million Americans today are believed to have some form of autism. And this number is on the rise. Based on statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and other governmental agencies, autism is growing at a startling rate of 10-17 percent per year. At this rate, the ASA estimates that the prevalence of autism could reach 4 million Americans in the next decade.

Stampin' Up! Autism Lovely Words Thinlits - Peggy Noe - stampinup

My card today is really meant for caregivers, parents and families of those with autism. My heart just goes out to them and I know they need love and support to keep going. So I created this card which expresses my feelings for them. I know that some autism patients may not like hugs or physical touch, so it seems that their caregivers even more would need that hug. In fact, I have a friend who is a mother of an autistic child and she needs lots of hugs. I’m going to send this card to her!

Stampin' Up! Lovely Words - Prettypapercards - stampinup
The bold sentiment was cut with the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies. It’s highlighted by two circles punched with the Starburst Punch, one is Whisper White card stock and one is Vellum (you can barely see the Vellum layered over the white). Bright designer series paper forms the background of the card, and Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon adds a nice accent.

Stampin' Up! Lovely Words - Peggy Noe - stampinup
Do you know someone with autism? Do you know a caregiver? Please find a way to support them today. In fact, you may wish to contribute to the Autism Society. If so, there is a donate button below to assist you 🙂 And, I thank you in advance!Maybe you are a caregiver for an autism patient. Then this card today is for you! I send big hugs to you today and thank you for your love and care and sacrifice.

Stampin' Up! Graceful Garden Blog Hop - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Spring in my garden here in Southern California is announced by the first rose blooms of the season. They are always the best, the healthiest, and the prettiest roses. And my rose garden is just outside the window in my craft room so I see it while I’m stamping!!

Stampin' Up! Graceful Garden Blog Hop - Prettypapercards - stampinup

My card today is a country rose. It reminds me of a yellow rose climbing a fence out in the country. This rose is from the Graceful Garden stamp set and, as you can see, it’s very detailed. To me it just called out to be colored with our Stampin’ Blends 🙂

Stampin' Up! Graceful Garden - Prettypapercards - stampinup

Remember to use Memento Ink with the Stampin’ Blends so that the stamped outline doesn’t bleed into your color. This is particularly important when using a light color like this Daffodil Delight.

Stampin' Up! Graceful Garden - Peggy Noe - stampinup

I used some of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper as a background for the rose. NOTE: on May 31st this paper will be retired, so if you like it be sure to order some right away. In fact, I just ordered another package of it because I like it so much!

Stampin' Up! Graceful Garden and Beautiful Day - Prettypapercards - stampinup

This is a card you could use for many different occasions. I find that I reach for “thinking of you” cards for sympathy, get well, encouragement, anything! I really like the font on this sentiment from the Beautiful Day stamp set, and it fit so well on my card!
