Pals Blog Hop: More Than One Score!

Welcome to the Pals’ May  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we’ve made some great projects with “More Than One Score.” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin' Up! Detailed With Love - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Today’s card is a Double Gatefold Card. It’s an easy card to make and has lots of places for designer series papers and other fun decorations. Today’s card uses mostly retiring items — many pretty ones!

The measurements of the card base are 11″ x 4-1/4,” scored at 1-3/8″ – 2-3/4″ – 8-1/4″ – 9-5/8.” Fold and burnish the scored lines, and decorate as you like 🙂 For my card I used the retiring Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper to decorate the card. I cut four pieces at 4″ x 1-1/8″ for the outer edges; two triangles at 5″ x 3″ x 3,” and a strip of Powder Pink card stock at 3/4″ x 5-1/4.”

A Pearlized Doily was placed over the center of the inside, where the triangles meet. This was topped with a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock punched with a 2″ Circle Punch. The sentiment from the Detailed With Love stamp set was stamped in Tranquil Tide Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock. It was then cut with one of the oval dies from the Stitched Shapes Dies.

The card was folded at the score lines and then tied around the top in a pretty bow using the beautiful Powder Pink 3/8″ Mini Ruffled Ribbon. This has been one of my favorite ribbons – and one of my favorite colors – and I’m sad to see it go 🙁

An Ode to Lovely as a Tree!

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree Card - Pretty Paper Cards - stampinup

This ode is in honor of the retirement of the Lovely as a Tree stamp set which has been around almost since the inception of Stampin’ Up! Every year when we get the new Annual Catalog we immediately look to see if Lovely as a Tree is in there. And this year – – IT WASN’T THERE! Shocking. At the On Stage conference we had a moment of silence for this beloved stamp set 🙁

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree - Pretty Paper Cards - stampinup

This is a classic stamp set and it deserves to be featured for a few more times before it officially retires. Most of the other products used on today’s card are also retiring. Here I used the largest stamp in the set. It has a grouping of trees, and is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on a background of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (also retiring).

A 1/2″ x 1-1/2″ tag of Whisper White card stock was stamped with a sentiment from the Eastern Medallion stamp set (retiring) in Shaded Spruce ink. The end of the strip was cut into an arrow with Paper Snips. Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the designer series paper and tied in a bow, with the little tag tied in.

Magnolia Sneek Peek!

Stampin' Up! Magnolia Thanks - prettypapercards - stampinup

Oh my goodness, I just can’t stop playing with this new Magnolia Lane Suite! I’m from California, but I’ve always wanted to be a Southern girl. Once I was in Dallas trying on clothes in an upscale store. Some ladies in the dressing room next to me were talking and their Southern accent was beautiful! I tried to restate in a very quiet voice exactly the words they were saying in the very same accent. I tried so hard to take on their Southern accent!! But it didn’t work 🙁  All that to say that I love everything Southern, and I just adore these gorgeous magnolias!

Stampin' Up! Magnolia Thanks Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

For this card I used the beautiful new In Color called Purple Posy. It’s a lovely light purple. I used Gorgeous Grape ink to stand out against the light purple. The dies in this suite are wonderful. There’s a fun die in the set that created the large scalloped border at the bottom front of the card. Then a stamp from the set coordinates to add that beautiful flourish! Don’t you love it?

Stampin' Up! Good Morning Magnolia - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink on the retiring Lemon Lime Twist card stock. This has been one of my favorite In Colors. I’m sad to see it go. The three individual blossoms were stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on Whisper White card stock, and then cut with a coordinating die.

On the inside of the card is a piece of Whisper White card stock stamped with the magnolia blossom stamped in the lower right corner. It’s so nice to add a little graphic to the inside of a card.

Sneak Peek: Bird Ballad Thank You Tags!

The new Bird Ballad Suite is so sweet. I’ve only used it a few times but I just love it! I mean, how could you not like this precious little bird??

Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad Thank You - prettypapercards - stampinup

The purpose of sneak peeks is to give you an advance look at items you will find in Stampin’ Up!’s new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. These items will be available to order on June 4th and, personally, I can’t wait for you to play with these fabulous products!

Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad Tags - Peggy Noe - stampinup

For today’s tags I used Pool Party card stock as a backing for a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. This paper is so pretty it could even be used all by itself. For these tags I’ve added a piece of Whisper White card stock stamped with one of the bird stamps from the stamp set. The bird was then punched out with the Starburst Punch.

Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad - prettypapercards - stampinup

The “thank you” sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a little strip of Whisper White card stock. I “flagged” the end of the strip by cutting at angles toward the center of the end of the strip to create a little flag 🙂

Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad - Peggy Noe - stampinup

These tags were used on bags of Stampin’ Up! products I gave to some of my customers. A hole was punched at the top center of the tag and some baker’s twine was run through so it could be tied onto the bags.

Keep watching my blog for more previews. In the meantime, don’t miss out on snatching up your favorite retiring items. You know they are only while supplies last! Click below to see all the items that are retiring!

Let’s Make a Banner!

Stampin' Up! Mosaic Mood Bird Banner - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Banners are easy and fun to make. I like to make smaller banners, not big ones, just sweet little banners to hang in my craft room 🙂 And today’s banner highlights some pretty new designer series papers that I’m so excited to show you!

Stampin' Up! Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Each paper on the banner was cut with one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies, that’s what makes this so easy!. At the bottom of each rectangle, a piece of lace was adhered to the back so it peeks out on the front giving it a bit of a shabby chic look 🙂 The rectangle above, the first rectangle on the left of the banner, was cut from the new Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper. Aren’t the mosaic roses beautiful? The paper also has some pretty butterflies. I cut one out and used a glue dot to adhere to the rectangle. A bow was tied with some brand new Petal Pink ribbon. All of these items will be available in the new annual catalog on June 4.

Stampin' Up! Banner Mosaic Mood Free as a Bird - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The next three rectangles were cut from the new Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. The birds on these papers are just adorable! The rectangle below shows the back of one of the bird pieces. It’s Petal Pink with little white dots. The daisy was punched out from both Petal Pink card stock and Whisper White card stock using the Daisy Punch.

A hole was punched in the top center of each rectangle and some Whisper White Baker’s Twine was slipped through the hole and used to tie the rectangles onto the banner’s ribbon. The banner is held together with a piece of Calypso Coral 3/8″ Satin Ribbon which has been intwined with some fun Leaf Ribbon. It really carries on the theme of birds and flowers and leaves!

The rectangle below is made from more of the Bird Ballad paper. I like this piece with all the bird cages. This is topped with a bird punched from the same paper using the Starburst Punch.

P.S. You’re the Best!

Stampin' Up! Miss You Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Some stamp sets you just really like, right? Well this one, P.S. You’re the Best, is one of those for me. I think one reason I like it is that I spent my professional career typing. I was a secretary and then a paralegal, and I typed a lot! And actually, I used typewriters before computers (don’t judge me). So I really like this little typewriter 🙂

Stampin' Up! P.S. You're the Best Card - prettypapercards - stampinup

I’m featuring this cute set today because it’s RETIRING on June 3rd 🙁 Not only does it have a typewriter, but lots of sentiments that fit right on the piece of paper in the typewriter, and some additional fun images. It even has an adorable tiny heart!

A small strip of RETIRING Gingham Designer Series Paper in Daffodil Delight sets off the typewriter and a scalloped circle sits underneath it. The “miss you” sentiment was stamped on Daffodil Delight card stock and cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.

Stampin' Up! P.S. You're the Best - prettypapercards - stampinup

Pretty Pointer: Changing the angles on your card can really make a difference! Doesn’t the sentiment square placed at a different angle really “pop”? Try this on your own cards!

During the next month I’m going to be highlighting some of the RETIRING PRODUCTS so you have an opportunity to grab them before they’re gone, Don’t forget, they are “while supplies last.” See all the RETIRING ITEMS below.
