The Biggest Sale of the Year!
What is Sale-a-Bration?
Sale-a-Bration is the best time of the year for papercrafters! (Well, in my opinion!) It’s a time when we earn FREE stamp sets and other products just for shopping! That’s right, for every order of $50 or more, starting January 3, we can choose a FREE ITEM from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog! For a $100 or more order we can choose either two (2) FREE ITEMS or there are now very special items for this size order! Yippee, Yeah!
So be prepared when you place your order and have the item number of your FREE item(s) ready for the online order form!
Be sure to pop back for my next post because I’m going to be showing you my favorite items from the new catalog!!
Today’s card is a sneak peek of some exciting new products in the Occasions Catalog going live on January 3rd! The first thing I decided to make is Valentines! I want to get them made early so they are ready to send out the first of February.
I really love making Valentines ~ they are just so pretty with hearts and ribbon and lace and, of course, my favorite color PINK!! Today’s card features the new So Do Love You stamp set and coordinating Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies. These come as a bundle, but let me tell you, the new Heart Happiness stamp set also coordinates with these dies. I got both stamp sets and the dies and I’m so glad I did!
And, I had to use my favorite ribbon in the new catalog – the Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon! Isn’t it gorgeous??!!
Get ready to be wow’d by these new catalogs. We have the 2018 Occasions Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration Catalog. For the first three months of 2018 we are having a HUGE GIVE-A-WAY! Stampin’ Up! does this every year! For every $50 order (before tax and shipping) they will give you a gift of your choice from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog! And there are special gifts for orders of $100 or more!!!

Welcome to the Pals November 2017 Blog Hop featuring “Anything But a Card”. Thank you so much for joining us today. Sit back and enjoy the view while the Stampin’ Pretty Pals wow you with projects like home decor items, gifts and 3-D items. Maybe even some card sets.
Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
A pretty box is just what we need for holiday gift giving! As paper crafters, we have the ability to actually make an easy small box.
For this box I used a beautiful Champagne Foil Sheet ~ isn’t it gorgeous? To decorate the top of the box I added an additional piece of Champagne Foil that was embossed with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Do you see how it has the pattern of a snowflake? And the box opens easily at the front so that you can slip in the little gift!
The Cherry Cobbler Double-Stitched Ribbon was slipped under the embossed piece and then tied up in a bow on the top. It’s the perfect finish to the blingy box!!
You can use all kinds of different papers to make boxes. I made a second box using Cherry Cobbler card stock and the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper. For this box I cut pieces of the designer series paper and adhered them on all of the sides of the box.
To make the box:
Start with an 11″ x 7″ piece of card stock
Placing the card stock in a horizontal/landscape position, use the score blade on your Stampin’ Trimmer to score at 2″ – 5″ – 7″ – and 10″
Turn the card stock to the vertical/portrait position and score at 2″ and 5″
Hold the card stock in the vertical/portrait position, with the smallest scored section at the top (1″)… you will see three scored sections along the top. Trim away the left and right sides, leaving a 3″ wide x 1″ deep tab. This forms the tab which is part of the lid of the box.
Turn the card stock back to the horizontal/landscape position and cut up from the bottom of the card stock at each vertical score line just as far as the first horizontal score line.
Flip the card stock around so that the side you have just cut is now at the top. Again cut up from the bottom of the piece at each vertical score line just as far as the first horizontal score line.
Fold and burnish each score line. Form the box with the tabbed lid at the top. Trim the sides of the lid to 1″ deep, to match the tab.
Put the box together, adhering the sides with Tear & Tape or Fast Fuse
Run a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of card stock through the Big Shot inside of the Winter Wonder Texture Impressions Embossing Folder (see how to get it FREE below!).
Tie ribbon around the embossed piece, making a bow at the top. Adhere to the top of your box.
I will be posting a video tutorial with instructions on how to assemble the box later this week. All of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of this post.
I’d sure love to hear what you think of this box and my video. I’m trying to get better at them 🙂 Please leave your COMMENT HERE.
Thanks so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today! Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on December 13, 2017. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below.

Black and white plaid is so classic, who doesn’t like it? It can be casual or elegant, and that’s what makes it good for any occasion. Today’s card pairs it with the beautiful Berry Burst for a birthday card!
Pair a bold color with a contrasting bold for a real WOW! Here the Basic Black and the Berry Burst play off of each other for a bright card.
Remember to decorate your envelope. It makes your card much more of an “experience.”
Soften a geometric. Here the doily and the curvy lines of the flourish die cut really soften the square pattern.
The cute little flower in the lower left corner of the oval was stamped and then colored with Berry Burst and Powder Pink ink and a blender pen.

I absolutely love the new leaf punch! There is so much you can do with it! For today’s project, I used it as a mask for embossing paste!
Today’s cards are the ones we made at our one-day retreat, Create the Day Away, and I couldn’t wait for you to see them! One of our demonstrations was on using embossing paste in different ways.
For this card we created a “mask” by punching a piece of Heavyweight Card Stock with the Leaf Punch. We laid the punched piece of card stock on top of the thin card stock panel and covered it with Embossing Paste. Lift up the mask and you are left with the embossing paste leaves!
We made both of these cards so that we could use a different arrangement of the card elements and a different sentiment on each card.
What do you think? Do you have any preference? Different options, different stamps, different combination of colors…and all quick and easy!
Give it a try! Punch your own leaves and use the punched piece as a mask for embossing paste. Send me a picture of your project ~ I’d LOVE to see it!
